We are ecosystem 2 (e2). Our mission is to set up an interface for the flow of data and knowledge across social-ecological systems.
About us
e2 is a creative studio and tech for good startup based in the UK.
We improve data impact around the socio-ecological carrying capacity of the earth.
We connect IoT sensors, data science and web technologies to make data more accessible.
Our work aims to lower barriers across the data lifecycle, supporting greater inclusion and collaboration. We do this through technology, learning and cultural resources on the production of geospatial data.
Our aim is support land-based practitioners at a grassroots level to gather and present data for their own learning or to other parties.
Who we have worked with:
Northwest England: Open Data Manchester, FACT Liverpool, AND Festival, Metal Liverpool and Open Eye Gallery
London: W1 Curates, Thames Festival, Sustainability First and Bermondsey Project Space
Taiwan: (Digital Arts Center Taipei) and Indonesia (Surabaya University) both through the British Council
Adam Sadiq - Director
Adam is a multidisciplinary technologist and designer whose work focuses on the field of social-ecological futures. He has built infrastructures to support IoT data capture and developed presentations for data visualisation in software such as Max MSP and Cesium.js.
Adam has a background in digital fabrication, sustainable design and documentary photography. More recently he has worked with geospatial data processing and front-end web interfaces such as Cesium.js to develop learning resources and public tools for researchers and citizen scientists.
In directing e2, Adam hopes to develop useful tools for cross-collaboration to improve the carrying capacity of social-ecological systems in the next generation.
Reuben Jones - Developer
Reuben is a full stack developer within e2. After graduating in 2020 with a computer science degree (1:1), and having done a dissertation in using machine learning to spot cardiac anomalies within patient smartwatch data, he has worked on a range of projects for e2.
Reubens’ skill-set contributes to the development and design of e2’s projects, using frameworks such as Node.js, Cesium.js, Mongo DB, Svelte.js, Docker, Git and Linux.
In his spare time he manages and maintains a homelab, hosting a kubernetes cluster that runs a number of micro-services; such services include Grocy, Nextcloud, Home Assistant, BOINC, Digikam, NGINX Proxy Manager and MariaDB. He also partakes in hobbies such as DnD, a tabletop RPG, and photography.
